Overview
We are the union road and bridge builders of Massachusetts. Our membership consists of companies that employ Laborers, Operating Engineers (Local 4 and Local 98), Carpenters, Ironworkers and Teamsters. We are proud to work on job sites throughout the Commonwealth to build world-class transportation infrastructure that our state depends on.
The Construction Industries of Massachusetts (CIM) created the Labor Relations Division (CIM-LRD) in 1976, recognizing the unique needs of the subset of CIM contractors in the heavy and highway industry that are signatory to collective bargaining agreements.
CIM-LRD is funded through collective bargaining agreements with the Laborers, Carpenters, and Operating Engineer (Local 4 and Local 98) unions. Each signatory member is welcome to join, and there are no dues nor fees to become a member. Its FREE! And membership comes with many benefits! Currently there are approximately 350 signatory contractors that comprise our membership base.
CIM-LRD also negotiates collective bargaining agreements and works closely with our members both during negotiations and resolving labor issues with the unions.
